We would like to acknowledge that we are gathering in the community of Parkdale, situated on the ancestral and traditional lands of the Treaty 7 Nations. Located along the north bank of the Bow River, this land has long served as a place of travelling, hunting, and community. We recognize and honour the Niitsitapi (Blackfoot Confederacy, including the Siksika, Piikani, and Kainai Nations), the Tsuut’ina First Nation, and the Îyârhe Nakoda (including the Chiniki, Bearspaw, and Goodstoney First Nations). We also acknowledge that this region is the home of the Otipemisiwak Métis Government (Districts 5 and 6) and all urban Indigenous people who share this space.
